Aloha Growers Presents and Mulligans On The Blue are excited to bring you The Pat Simmons Jr. Band with special guest Al Torre. Pat’s band delivers his traditional island style country and roots rock reggae sound uplifted by his newly formed rhythm section, which will keep ya movin and groovin to cherry guitar leads and sweet saxophone harmonies. The band features Duke Gadd on drums, Noah DeLea on bass and Alex Keeney on saxophone.

Pat Simmons Jr. is an island-style musician from Maui, Hawai’i, as well as a surfer, farmer, father & Cancer survivor. Offering a diverse blend of American folk-rock, country, blues, and reggae, Pat’s music is flavored with a traditional Hawaiian influence. Often performing alongside legendary artists such as his father, Pat Simmons Sr. of The Doobie Brothers, and solo at home; he is recently joined on stage by Nor-Cal locals, Sam Frey on bass and Adam Frey on drums. The trio opens up room for Pat’s tasteful bluesy electric guitar playing and beautiful, soulful vocals; expressing simple messages of conscious, social & environmental revolution. The band echoes some of Pat's influences like Jack Johnson & Xavier Rudd. Pat Simmons Jr. is a 2018 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards finalist in Hawai’i for his 2017 debut E.P. “This Mountain”. 

 

Al Torre is a self-taught guitarist with the unique ability to cross seamlessly over many styles and genres of music. Originally from New York, he has spent the last decade in the San Francisco Bay area and has made a name for himself as one of the most versatile players in the fertile West Coast music scene.

He has travelled up and down the coast touring and performing with many different bands and musical collaborations, and has performed/recorded with many established artist including John Popper and Bobby Sheehan (Bluestraveler), the Spin Doctors, Belinda Carlisle, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Ernest Ranglin, David Grisman, Steve Kimok, and U. Shrinivas. Mr. Torre has performed at nearly every major festival from Seattle to San Diego including Harmony Festival, Earthdance, Oregon Counrty Fair, and many, many more.

Internationally, he has toured all over the world with his craft and has reached audiences in such faraway lands as Australia, Europe, Bali, The Middle East and South America. He has also guested on a plethora of albums in many styles from folk to jazz, rock to singer-songwriter.
